“BETWEEN THE FRAMES” is an open photography contest organized as part of the Foto Art Festival. It is a unique opportunity for street photography enthusiasts, both professionals and amateurs, to showcase their work to a wide audience.
The works of the winners will be presented during a collective exhibition organized as part of the XI FotoArtFestival in Bielsko-Biała from October 10 to 26, 2025.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE?
1. Submit your application
Send your exhibition proposal (up to 3 photos) to the email address: kuba.dobek@fotoartfestival.com.
Theme of the works: street photography
2. Wait for approval and make the payment.
Wait for approval of 1 selected photo from your series, and after the approval, make the registration payment (25 PLN).
3. Send the photograph for printing.
Send the photograph selected by the organizer in JPG or TIFF format. The file must comply with the competition regulations.
4. Be a part of FotoOpen at FAF 2025!
You will be the author of the FotoOpen exhibition at the FotoArtFestival 2025 and have the chance to present your work to a wide audience!

1. Organizer
1.1. The organizer of the “BETWEEN THE FRAMES” Street Photography Competition is the Foundation Center for Photography.
1.2. The “BETWEEN THE FRAMES” Street Photography Competition is an accompanying event of the FotoArtFestival.
2. Participation
2.1. The “BETWEEN THE FRAMES” competition is open to those who photograph in the street photography genre, with no restrictions.
2.2. The organizer will only accept works that fit the genre mentioned in section 2.1.
2.3. The photographs should capture real, unposed moments from people’s lives and the surrounding world.
2.4. The photographer does not arrange scenes but documents reality as it is.
2.5. Street photographs carry a narrative or emotions – they show contrasts, irony, human relationships, or unexpected moments.
2.6. The key element of street photography is capturing a unique moment.
2.7. Portraits, architecture, light and shadow play, juxtaposition – all street techniques are allowed.
2.8. Street photography is a way of seeing the world – openness to accidental, fleeting moments and capturing them in a unique way.
3. Submissions
3.1. To participate, submit digital proposals (a maximum of 3 photographs) to the following email address:
kuba.dobek@fotoartfestival.com.
3.2. Photographs for the first stage (selection) must be submitted at a resolution of up to 120 dpi / 1200 px on the longer side.
3.3. Each file must be named first with the author’s last name, then their first name, followed by the title of the work.
3.4. The file must not contain watermarks or signatures.
3.5. Regardless of the equipment used, the key element is the resolution of the photo, which should allow for a high-quality print that meets gallery standards.
3.6. Submission deadline: by August 30, 2025.
4. Selection and approval of works
4.1. Submitted works will be selected by a jury appointed by the organizer.
4.2. The organizer reserves the right to reject submissions that do not meet the thematic or technical criteria.
4.3. The organizer reserves the right to reject submissions without providing a reason.
4.4. The list of selected participants will be announced by October 1, 2025, on the FotoArtFestival website.
4.5. From the 3 submitted photographs, the organizer will select 1 to be presented at the exhibition.
4.6. After the chosen work is approved, you must:
- Make the payment,
- Submit the selected photograph in JPG or TIFF format, with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi / the longer side: at least 3000 px. The file must not contain watermarks or signatures.
5. Fees
5.1. The participation fee for the exhibition is 25 PLN and is required after the work is approved by the organizer.
5.2. The payment should be made by August 30, 2025, to the following account:

5.3. In case the event is canceled, the fee will be refunded.
6. Preparing works for the exhibition
6.1. The organizer is responsible for printing and framing the works according to the exhibition concept and bears the associated costs.
7. Copyrights and consent for publication:
7.1. Photographers retain full copyright to their works.
8. Use of works
8.1. By submitting photographs, the author agrees to their free use for promotional purposes of the Festival (social media, website).
9. Personal data
9.1. By submitting a proposal, the participant accepts the regulations and gives consent for the processing of their personal data by the Centrum Fotografii Foundation (data administrator).
9.2. Providing personal data is voluntary, but necessary to participate in the exhibition.
9.3. The participant has the right to access and correct their data.
10. Final provisions
10.1. The list of exhibition participants will be published on the Festival’s website.
10.2. The final interpretation of the regulations lies with the organizer.
10.3. Submitting works implies acceptance of these regulations.
