The meeting the cutrators, press, and galleries is a chance to present your work to the reviewers and have your images published or exhibited later on.

Theme of your work is free.

WHO AM I?

Slovakia

Born in 1952 in Bratislava. He graduated from the Prague Film Academy of the Performing Arts (FAMU).
Ever since the end of the 1970s he has been regularly producing cycles of photographs featuring mountain regions, concentrating thematically on the life of people in the mountains and on mountain landscapes and wildlife (cycles about Orava, the Pamirs, Himalayas, Tibet and other regions).
He has often presented his work at group or solo exhibitions and he is the author or co-author of a number of photographic publications (e.g. The Pamirs, The Little and White Carpathians, On the Roof of the World, The world of Tibetan Buddhism, Labrang: The Universe of a Tibetan Monastery, Shepherds).
He teaches photography at the Pan European University and at Comenius University in  Bratislava, Slovakia.
As a mountaineer, he participated on a number expeditions to the highest mountains as the Himalayas, Caucasus, The Pamirs, etc.

WHO AM I?

Hungary/Japan/Germany

Bachelor of Arts from Essen Academy of Fine Arts; as part of Erasmus, he studied at the University of Art and Design. Moholy-Nagy in Budapest. He obtained his MA in Photography from the Folkwang Universität der Künste in Essen. Author of many exhibitions organized in Germany, Poland and Switzerland. Finalist of the Verzasca Foto Award and the European Photoaward. His work combines a documentary approach with staging.

WHO AM I?

Czechia

I started shooting in 2006. My photos are published by the most important world media: The Guardian, VICE, VANITY FAIR, Le Monde, Spiegel, Stern, The Huff Post and others. I have had many solo exhibitions and participated in collective exhibitions all over Europe and the United States, as well as in the Middle East. I was honored six times by Czech Press Photo, Sony World Photography, and nominated by World Press Photo and several others. I taught photography and photojournalism at Prague College in 2018. All over the world I am looking for people who lead their lives in a controversial or in some unique way I tell their stories.


ZBIGNIEW PODSIADŁO

WHO AM I?

President of the Mountain District of the Association of Polish Art Photographers (Bielsko-Biała). Multiple winner of the most important photo competitions and exhibitions. For his work, he was honored, among others: Gold Badge of the Polish Federation of Photographic Associations. Badge of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage “Meritorious for Polish Culture”. Member of the Council of the Foundation “PHOTOGRAPHY CENTER”. Member of the Program Council of the Art Center – SIELECKI CASTLE. Participant and organizer of open-air events and artistic symposiums. Juror of many international and national photography competitions and exhibitions. Author of several individual problem exhibitions. His works are also in the collections of the Historical Museum in Bielsko-Biała, the Schoen Palace Museum in Sosnowiec and in private collections. He was awarded the GLORIA ARTIS Silver Medal for Merit to Culture by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage.


JOLANTA RYCERSKA

WHO AM I?

Educated philosopher of art and photographer, president of the Association of Polish Art Photographers and the Warsaw District of the ZPAF, author of several dozen and curator of over a hundred photo exhibitions. The originator and director of five editions of the Warsaw Photo Days festival, the 8th edition of the Art Photography Festival and two editions of the Alternative Photography Days. He teaches creative photography at the ZPAF Photography College. Juror of numerous competitions and portfolio reviews. Member of the Program Council of Galeria Kordegarda. A scholarship holder of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage in 2016, winner of a special prize of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage for achievements in the field of creativity and promotion of photography.


KATARZYNA ZOLICH

WHO AM I?

Photographer. A graduate of Culture Studies at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow and the Academy of Photography in Krakow. PhD student at the Faculty of Arts of the Pedagogical University in Krakow. Winner of the scholarship of Spółdzielnia Młodych Twórców (2013) granted by the Society of Creative Initiatives “ę”, a scholarship of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, a scholarship of the Mayor of Bielsko-Biała in the field of culture and art, and the Polish-Hungarian Institute of Polish-Hungarian Cooperation. Wacław Felczak. Selected for the publication of “Debuts” in 2014 as one of the 36 most interesting debuting artists. The artist works at the Paper Beats Rock foundation, popularizing knowledge about zines and photo books, and organizes and conducts editorial workshops all over Poland. He is interested in collective work and social issues, especially in relation to the symbolism of power and symbolic violence. Since 2019, he has been running an online self-publishing library under the name of Małe Nakłady. She lives in Bielsko-Biała.


ROBERTO MUFFOLETTO

USA.

Artist photographer, lecturer, professor at the Appalachian State University in the USA. MA in Photography from the University of Wisconsin (Madison). He deals with new media and global education. Fullbright scholarship holder. Creator of VASA Project (Media Studies Center). Founder and first director of the famous CEPA (Center for Perceptual Arts) in Buffalo. Editor of “Camera Lucida” and “Frame Wrok” Curator of many exhibitions, promoter of numerous artists, publisher, Fulbright scholarship holder. Works in the collections of the Burchfield Penny Art Center in Buffalo and the Visual Studies Workshop in Rochester (New York State). Author of photo albums and numerous exhibitions.

WHO AM I?

Photographer, member of the Union of Polish Art Photographers (ZPAF). He presented his works at individual and collective exhibitions in Poland and abroad. He creates his photos by combining various techniques, from pinhole to digital photography. Scholarship holder of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. Lecturer and director of the Photography Studio of the ZPAF in Warsaw. Technical expert in traditional and digital photography.

WHO AM I?

Member of the Association of Polish Artists and Designers and the Association of Polish Art Photographers. He co-creates the photo workshop program – www.fotowarsztaty.eu. Curator of the City of Gardens Gallery in Katowice. Lecturer at the Photography College of ZPAF in Warsaw and WSTI in Katowice.

WHO AM I?

Professor of Film Arts. He heads the Department of Art Theory and Artistic Photography at the Art Institute at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Silesia in Cieszyn. He works with photography and painting. He is a member of the Association of Polish Art Photographers. He conducts educational and popularizing activities in the field of photography.


IGOR MANKO

WHO AM I?

Ukraine.

Lives in Kharkiv, Ukraine.
Photographer and curator.

He has been engaged in art photography since 1982. In mid 1980s he joined the wide-known Kharkiv School of Photography group of artists and has been an active participant of Ukraine’s art photography scene ever since.

In 2013 he joined the VASA Project curatorial team and is a head curator for VASA now.

He has exhibited his work both in Ukraine and internationally. His photos are kept in private collections and galleries.

Igor has curated a number of exhibitions in Ukraine and is the author of several essays on photography in Ukraine.


JOANNA CHUDY

WHO AM I?

Poland.

A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow (2002), the College of Photography at the State Higher School of Film, Television and Theatre in Łódź (2009). In 2013, she obtained a doctoral degree, and in 2020, a postdoctoral degree at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. Author of 20 individual photo exhibitions. Participant of 40 collective exhibitions in Poland and abroad, incl. in Paris, Berlin, Warsaw and Sofia. She deals with creative photography, presents the black and white trend of classical photography. Since 2014, she has been a member of the Association of Polish Art Photographers, and since 2017, in the Board of the Mountain District. She taught portrait photography at the Lodz Film School. She lives in Bielsko-Biała. Winner of awards and distinctions in national and international competitions. She won, among others Grand Prix of the 6th Warsaw Art Photography Festival in Warsaw (2010), 1st prize in the National Photo Competition “Portrait 2009” in Koło (2009), award of the Director of Bielska BWA Gallery in Bielsko-Biała in the competition of the 4th Bielsko Festival of Visual Arts 2018. Scholarship holder of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage in 2010 and 2018 and the Marshal of the Silesian Voivodeship (2011). Her works are in the collections of the Bielska BWA Gallery, the Historical Museum in Bielsko-Biała and in private collections.

REGULAMIN

Attending the Portfolio Review – FAF Trampoline is a very efficient investment you can make in marketing your work. Sitting face-to-face with professionals, who you would not usually find accessible, is priceless.

Gallery owners, curators, editors, photo festival directors, and publishers come to Bielsko-Biała to review your work.

Photographers register for one-on-one meetings with the reviewers.

Each review session lasts for 15 minutes. You have a chance to talk to 4 reviewers.

The number of participants is limited.

You will also have a chance to attend the Opening Ceremony of the FotoArtFestival in Polish Theatre and a party, which is the informal meeting with the reviewers.

To be part of the FAF Trampoline you are asked to send your proposition (10 images) to the e-mail address: info@fotoartfestival.com (with Trampoline in the name of the message). The mailing submission is free of charge.

The theme is free.

When you are accepted for the Trampoline you should prepare your portfolio according to general rules (good quality prints or a laptop presentation).

You will be notified by an e-mail message whether your work is admitted for the Trampoline during the FotoArtFestival.

The deadline for applying is the 25th September 2021.
