Antonin Kratochvil is from the Czech Republic. He is the founder of VII Photo Agency. He worked as a photojournalist during many war conflicts. The spectrum of Kratochvil’s achievements is very broad. In his achievements we can find, for example, photos of Mongolia’s street children which were published in the American Museum of Natural History’s magazine. We can also find in his achievements a portrait session with David Bowie as the lead, or a picture of the Iraq War for Fortune magazine and which was on its cover. The photographer’s works have appeared among the most important magazines and newspapers all over the world, and he himself has published 5 books. The last one titled “Vanishing” was published in 2005. Among the numerous awards is The Lucie Award for Outstanding Achievements in the category of Press Photography, the Leica Medal of Excellence and three first prizes in the World Press Photo competition.
