ALAIN LABOILE (France)

Alain Laboile was born in 1968 in Bordeaux, France. A photographer, a sculptor and a father of six children. He bought his first camera in 2014, when he decided to create a portfolio of his own authorship. Then, inspired by passion to entomology, i.e. scientific study of insects, he dealt with macro-photography. However, he quickly turned his attention to the family which became the prevailing topic of his works. His photographies are one of the most remarkable documents about family life in history. In France, a cycle of photos La Famille (Family), is a part of permanent collection of the French Museum of Photography in Bievres. Works of the artist were presented during many group and individual exhibitions all over the world, f.ex. in Japan, India or Mexico, what is more, they were published in “At the Edge of the World” album.
